About Us
Hi there and welcome to our website!
You found the coolest venue in Hernals, the 17th district in Vienna, famous for its smooth and fast connection between the quite large biosphere reserve Wienerwald and the city, all reachable within 15 minutes of public transport.
The Jetzt Bar, a small horse and cart house from the late 19th century, was founded 1990 as a pure Hard Rock Club and grew up to one of the most requested and best rated college bars in the suburbans.
Our guests love the positive vibes and the fair offers which leave no wish unfulfilled.
It's most important to us that the crowd is happy with us and our service, with the music and the atmosphere. Besides of various gaming entertainment like table soccer, pool billard, e-darts and a pinball machine we offer free wifi, a beautiful and unique backyard with a special outdoor cooling system for hot summer nights, air condition in four rooms, a daily dj-line, occasional live gigs and regular football showings on three big screens and various TVs, also in the courtyard which is open to request for Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, German and Austrian leagues, especially all matches of the Hamburgian tradition club 1. FC St.Pauli are shown, even in the afternoon.
We usually open the doors at 5pm and rarely close before 2am. At weekends you can come until 4am and it's likely you still find a crowded and loud dancing floor inside ;)
We have five Beers and one Cider on tap, a few more in bottles, Cocktails starting at €4,50, a small but good selection of Gins from around the world, quite interesting local and European spirits which are not all well-known but all special!
Our so called Soul Food has its roots in the Carribean and Cajun kitchen from Louisiana to Mexico, but found impressions in plain cooking from around the world, from the Near East to India, from Russia to Iceland. We have always a small selection of home made Tapas on the menu and our popular sandwiches made of turkish bread are available around the clock.
If there is one thing that is really unique at the Jetzt-Bar, it may be the huge Frank Kozik Collection of the owner, of me of course and I still wonder how it could come this far. I started collecting records of Kozik's Man's Ruin label in the early 90s and followed buying my first silk-screen prints in the Rave Up, a well sorted record store in Vienna.
As the colours of these original prints made really well on the painted walls at the Jetzt Bar I went on and on and haven't stopped yet, over 20 years later.
I suggest having the biggest collection in Austria which counts about 150 original silk-screen prints, all signed and numbered by the man himself.
Unfortunately it rarely happens, that prints get stolen, that's why almost all displayed prints are copies by now. Nevertheless we struggle hard to gain great results in copying these wonderful artworks and I expect all thiefs going to die from diarrhea while having a last look on the stolen orginal print on their shabby toilet door ... sorry, just kidding.
Please don't try taking them away from the spot as you will merely destroy more value than you can win and the chance is high that the copy itself will burst.
If you are interested in one of my Koziks, just give me a shout and I see what I can do. If you're lucky you may have a chance to get a Jetzt-Original for a few drinks. Not likely but possible.
